ATLANTA, Ga. -- Mackey Marketing Group
client, 17 year-old Casey Neal traveled to Daytona, Florida
during his Christmas break from High School to compete in the
opening race of the 2006 season with a visit to the 32nd Annual
WKA KartWeek at
Daytona International Speedway on
December 27 through 30. In the opening-day TaG class race event,
Neal scored big with a 3.3 second victory over 2nd place
finisher Chris Grektorp. In subsequent races during the event
schedule, Neal fought off a variety of problems but still
managed to finish 10th in the Yamaha Lite class on Day 2 and 5th
in the Yamaha Sr. Sportsman Lite class on the final day of
racing competition.
His
karting record is soon to be enhanced
by a more car-racing oriented schedule. Casey Neal is planning
to focus on the open-wheel road racing arena for 2006. After his
very successful Red Bull Driver’s Search experience in 2005,
Neal hopes to enhance his karting driving record with
competition in the opening rungs of the professional formula car
circuits.
In 2005, Neal was a finalist in the Red Bull Driver Search after
being chosen to compete in the semi-finals at Sebring, Florida
and the world finals at Estoril, Spain. At the semi-finals, Neal
caught the attention of many with a mind-boggling, totally
dominant performance where he won all eleven of the eleven races
in which he competed. It was an impressive result and led to
Neal being chosen as one of two drivers selected to represent
the U.S. in the world finals at Estoril.
“I have been very impressed by Casey Neal,” said
motorsport marketing agency president,
Brian Mackey of Mackey Marketing Group. “He has shown that he
has blinding speed at his disposal and I am confident that he
will continue his impressive racing results as he moves into the
formula car ranks.”
Added Red Bull Driver Search Managing Director, Danny Sullivan,
“As a 17 year old, what Casey lacks in racing experience, he
more than makes up in natural driving ability. I look for a
bright future for Casey and can’t wait to see him put to work
the lessons he learned as part of the Red Bull Driver Search
Campaign.”
Neal is reviewing options for 2006 and anticipates making
announcements concerning his competition plans in the coming
weeks.
