Casey Neal Wins Stars of Karting ICA for J
& J Racing
at Newcastle Motorsports Complex
CASEY NEAL SETS OFF OWN FIREWORKS ON
RACETRACK THIS WEEKEND
New Castle, IN- The past 4th of July weekend proved to be more
than a celebration of independence for Middletown, Ohio-based
driver, Casey Neal. Neal's victory on Sunday in the ICA class
at the Snap-On Stars of Karting national go-karting series
exemplified the talents of the sixteen year old. The Stars
series traveled to the New Castle Motorsports Complex, a
first-class racing facility founded by Indy 500 veteran, Mark
Dismore, which is located fifty miles east of Indianapolis.
Prior to the first green flag on Saturday at Dismore's
track, Neal entered the race weekend equipped with numerous
hours of practice in his J&J Racing supported Biesse chassis and
team. On Saturday, Neal's efforts during Day One of races
garnered him with a second place finish in the final, for his
first ICA podium.
However, keeping in mind the phrase that second place is never
remembered, Neal went for the steal on Sunday's Day Two of
action. Starting from row two for the final, Neal swapped the
top two positions with pole-sitter and teammate, Chris Keller.
Unfortunately, Casey's quest as the leader was cut short as
Keller and Mike Giessen, another aspiring driver, stole the
first two spots from him. After Keller experienced racing's
occasional bad luck with engine issues, Casey secured second
place behind Giessen for fifteen laps. With three laps
remaining, the charging, Chris Giumarra, overcame Casey for
second place.
A combination of two fortunate events occurred for Neal
on the final lap. First, the lead kart of Giessen also pulled
out of the race for engine difficulties. Secondly, Giumarra was
unable to maintain the lead in the last turn as he slid off the
track with Neal pressuring him under a grey sky of heavy rain.
Seeing the checkered spangled banner, Casey Neal won his first
Snap-on Stars of Karting ICA race.
Following his great accomplishment, Casey graciously
commented, "This was a tough race, but we had a real fast kart
and that kept me up front both days. The Biesse/J&J Racing Kart
was dialed in really good all weekend and my ATK Engine just
pulled on the straights awesome. I would like to thank everyone
that supports us: Biesse Racing Karts, Jim and John Giacomelli
off J&J Racing, Hubchen Carburetors of Germany, Merlin Atomik (ATK)
Engines, Beta Tools for their help, and KG for their new airbox.
I would also like to thank the Dismore family for providing us
with such an excellent racing facility" The victory for Neal in
such a prestigious and popular series gave great insight to the
capabilities of the new up-and-coming racing star. Continued
